today was our break-up show. kristjanne and I celebrated heartbreak and shed a few tears.

and the strokes' third album is the album of the week. it's not quite as catchy and cool as the first two albums, but I'd say that's to their credit because the strokes were way too fucking cool for their own good. first impressions of earth explores new territory lyrically and musically. it's not as tight as is this it and room on fire, but its looseness is thought-provoking. if you think julian casablancas has nothing to say, listen again.
